The Women of Excellence Awards is an annual recognition program hosted by the Professional Men of the Chi Lambda Lambda Graduate Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. It honors women who demonstrate outstanding contributions and commitment to improving their communities across politics and government, business, faith and community engagement, and education.
Nominations are not open right now. The award categories are described below — check back when the next season is announced.
Award categories
A nominee may be submitted in one or more of the four categories.
Women of Excellence — Politics and Government
Recognizes outstanding community impact through political work — nominees do not have to be elected officials.
Women of Excellence — Business and Entrepreneurship
Recognizes community impact through business leadership or entrepreneurship.
Women of Excellence — Faith and Community Engagement
Recognizes impact through community service, church service, or general service to the community.
Women of Excellence — Education
Recognizes impact and contribution through the field of education.
How nominations work
Nominees come from across our community — they do not need any connection to the Fraternity. Nominations themselves are submitted by the Brothers of Chi Lambda Lambda, who sponsor a nominee on her behalf with a type-written essay of no more than 500 words outlining her outstanding achievements.

Any woman who exemplifies excellence and community impact within one of the listed award categories may be nominated. For Politics and Government, nominees do not need to be elected officials.
Who can submit a nomination?
Nominations are submitted by the Brothers of Chi Lambda Lambda, who sponsor a nominee on her behalf through the member portal. If you know a deserving woman, contact the chapter and a Brother can sponsor her nomination.
Is an essay required?
Yes. Include a type-written essay of no more than 500 words explaining why you are nominating the person and outlining her outstanding achievements. You can type it into the form or upload it as a file.
