Chapter Program
Health & Wellness
Boxing-based fitness training, community health fairs, and life-saving blood drives across the South Suburbs.
Chi Lambda Lambda's health initiatives promote physical fitness, mental discipline, and preventive care for brothers and the broader community.
The Fighting Trim Boxing Academy wellness program — led three days a week by Bro. Michael Muhammad, a Golden Gloves boxer and Health Initiatives Committee member — offers structured boxing and fitness training focused on conditioning, stress management, and mental resilience for participants of all levels.
The chapter's annual Father's Day Community Wellness and Health Fair at Washington Park pairs free screenings and wellness resources with a community 5K and family cookout. Chapter brothers also organize and support community health fairs and blood drives throughout the year.
Blood drives & community health
Chi Lambda Lambda's award-winning blood-drive program includes the annual Charles R. Drew Blood Drive and a Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service blood drive. A single recent drive collected 92 units of blood — enough to help an estimated 276 patients.
The chapter is establishing a Chapter Health Officer to provide AED readiness, health screenings, and first aid at chapter events, and is launching quarterly Health Literacy workshops for brothers and the community.
Mental health
Brothers also supported the Tenth District 'Breaking the Silence: Mental Health in Black Men' webinar, which drew more than 100 participants for a candid conversation about mental wellness.
